Needs Assessment 2019: *CCHS Only

CCHS Only: How do you think the move to an off-site location will affect your library usage, if at all?

  1. Probably not much in most cases.
  2. yes
  3. Severely decrease my physical visits
  4. Yes not visit will do more on-line
  5. no
  6. N/A
  7. no
  8. I won't use that resource any longer
  9. not much at this time.
  10. minimally
  11. not much. I rarely use the physical building, usually online services only
  12. If the information I need is digital, no problem. If I need a hard copy of a journal, that would be different.
  13. I would miss being able to access librarians in-person and utilize the quiet secluded space of the library. It would make it more difficult for me but I would manage.
  14. I hope the library doesn’t move because it is such a convenient location to study. Now that the school is moving, the library will be a main meeting place for my study group to get together.
  15. I believe I will study there less since it won't be a "one stop shop," which is unfortunate since I genuinely do enjoy studying at the library.
  16. off site would be awful in about every way imaginable. i would use it less frequently.
  17. An off-site move would decrease library usage.
  18. not affect
  19. Yes. Being so close to campus makes it so convenient to just walk over before or after class to have a study session.
  20. I rarely use the physical library, so it won’t affect me.
  21. Yes - we love the study and conference rooms
  22. It will be more difficult to stop by and ask questions, have literature searches performed, etc.
  23. It's going to get even worse. Libraries should be where people need them - at work.
  24. Yes
  25. NA
  26. None
  27. very little
  28. I would love for it to stay here and not move, having a library on campus is so important and useful to me
  29. WE will not be coming to library as much. Mostly online. Possible to have online orientation for students?
  30. not much
  31. Significantly, hopefully this will not happen
  32. The library may still be a good central location for group study
  33. Not at all as long as we have Online access stil
  34. won't be using it as much hopefully able to secure study rooms when needed/on campus after clinicals
  35. It will decrease the use for studying & other resources as access will not be as convenient as before. It can still be utilized while doing clinicals at the hospital, but typically I wouldn't use it those days.
  36. The only thing I really liked the library for was the study rooms, so I think having more study rooms option at the new location will be good.
  37. I think having a larger building will create more open study rooms at the library.
  38. We have asked Brenda to put the information she usually provides to our students in person into an online format in preparation for the move. Otherwise I do not anticipate much impact personally, as I use the library electronically most of the time. I do think it may impact the amount of time our students use the physical study space.
  39. Will still have to come on the main campus for clinical classes so will stop in then as needed.  Still a good central place to study unless the new site has study rooms.
  40. Will not be able to go as often as I would like
  41. if you give us better database support the transition will be smoother
  42. Not sure if the students will continue to use the library as much since we will be off site.
  43. Shouldn't have a tremendous effect given that we use the digital sources more often. Will be a little less convenient for students to access print related resources, i.e. oncology related books
  44. I will not use the library because it will no longer be convenient it will be to far of a drive from my home to the new school back to the library that is one of the biggest issues with the move.
  45. It will not. I use the ADL.
  46. I believe my usage will decrease due to not being on campus everyday to attend class. It was easy to walk from CCHS to the library to study before or after class.
  47. I won’t be using the library as often since the location of the school is moving.
  48. It'll will be difficult because we like going to ahec and now we have to drive more to use it since campus is moving
  49. It will not affect.
  50. It shouldn't
  51. This will most likely decrease my library resources usage. The new location is a very unfortunate situation in regards to both clinical and access to the library.
  52. No
  53. Since I am still here at the hospital for clinical, I will still try to access the location.  Otherwise, my time at the library will likely be reduced due to the move.
  54. I think you will see less of our students physically inside the library.  The move may prompt more emails from the students needing help in their research.
  55. I will probably be much less likely to visit the library in person, and instead utilize electronic resources.
  56. I will probably use it more since it is closer to my house.
  57. I don't foresee a change in how I use the library.  I have concerns for the students, but not my own needs as a result of the move.
  58. no
  59. No it will not

CCHS Only: Can the library do anything to improve its services during this transition?

  1. no
  2. none
  3. N/A
  4. NA
  5. continue to apply to get more free electronic nursing resources for staff
  6. provide communication on the move- is there a move? This is unclear.
  7. remain available online
  8. Keep the online database as current as possible!
  9. Make more on-line journals available; make an easy button to request help with literature searches
  10. Issues username/passwords without having to request one
  11. provide pre-paid printer cards
  12. more of an online presence or possibly even having a remote location set up at the new CCHS campus for students to access
  13. No.  I think we will be more virtual after the move, but you guys reply to e-mails quickly so I don't see a problem.
  14. provide a "library" in our new building with books pertaining to the school's programs
  15. continue to provide student support, give us better database access
  16. Could we have additional textbooks available for students to use at our new location?
  17. come with us. its nice to have the library so close for our projects and the staff are such a big asset for us. The study rooms are a great tool and we always feel safe being there no matter the time.
  18. nothing
  19. Not that I can think of.
  20. Will there be the option of having some satellite resources available at the new location? (ie reference books or journals)
  21. Pray it all goes according to plan.  :)
  22. No
  23. Please add more computers and let us print for free if it is needed for school.
  24. It would be nice for the library to invest significant resources in online functionality and accessibility to journal articles.  If students can access the library from home, with ease, it will make the library a more valuable resource to students.  It would also make it more valuable to staff.  The available digital library resources feel like a handicap when trying to find material for courses or current research on broad health related topics.
