Needs Assessment 2019: Improvements?

Do you have any suggestions on how the library can improve that we haven't touched on in this survey?

  1. communication.
  2. maybe educating nursing staff of its location
  3. n/a
  4. no
  5. no
  6. no
  7. MICROSOFT WORD ON THE COMPUTERS
  8. On site, have reminders of how to correctly search online journals, etc
  9. to have updates to what is new and available
  10. None
  11. send out education on using online database/journals
  12. Nurses don't have the time to be going through all the clicks on the ADL, they either do it from home on their own time or not at all
  13. none
  14. Your resources should be better highlighted for nursing staff.
  15. The only thing that is challenging to me is keeping my log in information correct. That's mainly why I'm using my ASU library, because I can access it more easily. I don't think my AHEC login is working currently. I will pursue it again when I need it after graduation.
  16. Nurses are expected to participate in EBP.  ADL should provide the same extensive access to resources that universities provide to their students through their online libraries.  Finding full text articles and gaining access through the ADL is labor intensive and is a great barrier to the advancement of EBP by direct care nurses.
  17. N/A
  18. didn't know it was available or a resource
  19. None

  21. Needs to be more user friendly.  Online Search.
  22. n/a
  23. Pay your librarians more-they are priceless.
  24. NA
  25. Promote the library more - I don't think that most people realize they have access to the AHEC library.
  26. Should be open on the weekends too
  27. no
  28. would like quicker turnaround for literature searches and hands on help refining the searches.
  29. Love the ability to find articles at night when on call via digital means, but wish the site was more user friendly to look for journals.
  30. Increased access to journals at UNC, Duke and ECU med libraries
  31. Open up access to non-faculty members.
  32. Yes, please extend full text publication access to non-physician researchers and research staff (at least 2-3 folks per academic department).
  33. It is a tremendous inconvenience for them not to have access and results in our physicians spending their time to pull articles needed by other members of our department's academic staff.
  34. The ADL is not user friendly
  35. n/a - more advertisement for services
  36. more engagement with academic departments at Atrium; the library is a gem and our faculty don't always know about the resources.  Atrium sponsors a lot of residency and fellowship programs but the library utilization (from my perspective) is underutilized.
  37. I want the library to become a place where I can spend time quietly reading journals. At the moment I have to subscribe to them so I can read them online at home. I find reading paper much easier and I absorb much more but I can't read as many journals as I used to because I can't afford to subscribe to them all and logging onto AHEC via my personal computer is a pain.
  38. No.
  39. No, mainly requesting more subspecialty (Rheumatology) journal access electronically
  40. Continue outstanding service!
  41. No
  42. Maybe some literature search classes or webinars?
  43. More access to librarians electronically
  44. Several journals i want are Archived, that is one problem
  45. The biggest improvement was "24/7 access" which I hope will continue. I also worry that if I were to retire, my access would disappear or be greatly limited. Thanks for all you do!
  46. THe librarians are extremely helpful and I use them frequently because I find the online resource not as user friendly
  47. A 2 hour computer lab orientation/workshop to use of online AHEC databases for conducting systematic reviews for all incoming residents would be a good educational offering.
  48. Get two monitor screens for research, much more efficient.
  49. more study rooms or conference rooms I love the access on weekends. the library often has study rooms/conference rooms available to use then
  50. none
  51. I wish we had more of the journals available for nursing and education.
  52. It would be AMAZING if the relationship between Atrium and UNC School of Medicine would provide us with access to the UNC Health Sciences Library.
